  • Somebody had to read a classic for school and I gave her a few choices. This child almost did fall asleep reading. Either the book was boring or the pillow from @happyandcohome was too comfy. Either way, maybe I should have suggested Alice in Wonderland ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Š

Poland... What to eat in Krakow and Warsaw? Any specialties? Also, any off the beaten path neighbourhoods that we should check out in Krakow? The girls and I have one free day (no museum/sites booked) and want to wander while we check out the cafes and corners of the city.
.
Off to finish tidying up and to the airport. See you in Poland!

  • When your little girl cried because she was so happy. She's been wanting a trampoline for the longest time and finally got it yesterday. Best day ever!

It's been awhile since I posted a cottage. A 16th century Grade II listed home. Beautiful isn't it? Brent Eleigh is just a few minutes drive from Lavenham and if you look up "The Byre" on Google, you can stay in the rental cottage behind this one (which the owner lives in).

Another gorgeous day here in Cambridgeshire. I think I'll take J to Norwich after I drop M off at gymnastics. What's your plans for the day?
.
PS: Two seconds after posting this I ran outside to grab laundry. It's now raining ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ #britishsummer
  • Who loves buying meat from their local butcher? We do although we do still buy a bit from the grocery store too.
.
One thing I love about living in England, or Europe in general, you still have these independent specialty shops.
.
Off to trampolining with Jovie and friends. I am not bouncing though, just the drinks and snacks supervisor and photographer ๐Ÿ˜ Then packing up for a โœˆ๏ธ to Poland Sunday.
.
Take care!!

  • In awe with the beauty of the Church-Mosque of Cรณrdoba. This heat, YES, we have heat here in England!! Reminds me of our time in Spain last April.
.
Per Wikipedia, these arches were inspired by those in the Dome of the Rock and also resemble those of the Aachen Cathedral.

It's been a manic day. Yesterday afternoon the alternator belt my car broke. This means the battery cannot recharge when the car is on. I don't know much about cars, hubby is the pro, but it went from a ยฃ20 broken belt to buying a ยฃ250 A/C part plus labour.
.
Hopefully I hear somewhat of a decent news from the mechanic soon.
.
Besides the car, life is really good. The sun is shining, I am in summery clothing and drinking free Waitrose coffee. I wish every grocery store offer this perk ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚
.
Hope your day is beautiful ๐Ÿ˜˜

  • Life is like a charming wonky British home. Perfectly imperfect.
.
Don't tell hubby I posted this but it's his birthday today and also our meeting anniversary.
.
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls (I know some of you stalking me are M's friends ๐Ÿ˜), let me tell you... Life is unpredictable. You can have the most perfect grown up list (perfect job, house, partner, lifestyle etc) but ya know, the best things in life are those that come when you least expect it and sometimes not on your list.
.
On my "Guy I wouldn't date" list was: Drunk guy met at a club/bar. Fifteen years later we're still together. Now to be fair, I didn't know he was drunk that night. He was drinking water all the time he was with me. He had one shot at the end and he got very tipsy. I think this was what hooked me. "Wow, a lightweight like me!!" I thought. Later he told me he's been drinking all day and he was just drinking water whilst with me because he was dehydrated ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Man I was ignorant ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
.
We met again a few days later. He couldn't remember what I looked like or how to say my name ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
.
Have a great day ๐Ÿ˜˜
  • Remember the Suffolk Pink tidbit I shared yesterday?
.
Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White owned this pub from 2011-2015. Within weeks of ownership he painted the pub Suffolk Pink. It was the wrong shade of pink though, a bit too light. The neighbours weren't pleased and neither were the council folks. Mr White agreed to repaint it.
.
The pub is now owned by new owners and this is the current colour. Before Mr White took over, the pub was a shade of cream.
.
All in the name of conservation!

Lavenham last Sunday during the WW2 memorial.
.
Today has been bitter sweet. So sadden by what happened in Manchester and grateful for the great time I had with Jovie at her field trip and now with my wee family, BBQing and roasting marshmallows.
.
There are evil out there but I believe that there are more love than evil.

Much love to you all โค๏ธโค๏ธ
