Hello again! This week I decided to update my Instagram highlight icons to something a bit more light and airy.
Before creating these icons, I looked at buying a package from Etsy or Creative Market. With so many choices I figured that I’d find something awesome. Unfortunately, there weren’t any that I really liked and so I logged in to Canva and created my own.
By the way, are you a Canva user? If not, give it a go! Right now is a perfect time to try because there is a 30-days FREE Canva Pro account!
What is Canva
In case you are not familiar with Canva, Canva is a graphic design website. With it you can create anything from icons like this to more complicated pieces like an interactive IG story/post. You don’t need to be a graphic designer to create an awesome graphic. There are so many templates and these templates are ones I use also as a base.
Besides the highlight icons I created, the Pinterest friendly image below and the images for my online travel course were created in Canva.

I love creating and sharing. To download the highlight icons to your phone, just click each image to enlarge and download each into your phone.

If you wish to download the whole set, fill out the form below and you will be redirected to download the whole collection; you will also be subscribed to my newsletter. This way when a new freebie comes around, you will be the first to know!
NOTE: do feel free to opt-out or not confirm your email address after the download if you do not wish to subscribe to the newsletter. But if you do subscribe, you will be first to know of the next freebies or have access to subscriber-only freebies and news.
For the longest time, I only had the free account. But as I used the website more and my needs have increased, I upgraded.
A free Canva account gave me access to many features. But with an upgrade to pro, I get so much more: thousands of photos, graphics, templates, and fonts. All the cute images I used for the icons came from my pro account.
If you use Instagram for business, a blogger, a YouTuber or one who inspires to create professional-looking graphics images, I encourage you to give Canva, or better yet, Canva Pro, a trial. It’s free for 30 days and after that, about four cups of cappuccino a month. That ain’t bad 😊
Anyhow, these FREE Instagram highlight icons I created were based on my own needs. But, I reckon you can use a few for whatever you want. For example one of the icons is mountains. I used it for the Peak District. But you can use it for hiking, any mountain, or the outdoors.
Until next time!
