Are you a hotel or apartment type of traveler? Keep reading for a special @bookingcom promo!
⠀⠀
Often people ask where we stay when traveling. Eighty percent of times I travel with kids and on occasion, dogs, and I book an apartment. If it’s a short overnight before catching a plane, a hotel next/near the airport. An apartment gives us a bit of space and also a kitchen. Cost wise, often the same as a hotel, if not less because we can cook our own meals.
⠀⠀
There are many choices out there but since we moved to England in 2010, we’ve been using @bookingcom to search and book our stays. I love the choices the company gives me and often I can find lodging with very flexible cancellation policy. With my husband’s busy and sometimes last minute work change, this flexibility is important to us. Use the link in my bio and @bookingcom will give you 25 EUR off your next reservation.

  • Where are the doggies?
⠀⠀
Things to try when in Belgium: mussels, beer, chocolate and fries!
⠀⠀
I showed my brother the IG behind the scene stuff and he was amused by the planning of it. Being an interior designer though, he understood quickly the importance of making the grids be in a certain direction 😜
⠀⠀
Hope you all had/are having a fabulous Sunday! Flying back to Germany tomorrow. I may go for a feet massage tonight 😬 Laters!! 😘
  • Is this the prettiest Brugge restaurant? It seems like it!!
.
I can’t believe we only have three more weeks of 2018! Gosh, hasn’t the time gone by so quickly?
.
In Indonesia for a few days, nothing IG related. It’s been 11 years since I visited this place and what a change! Jakarta is soooooooo much cleaner and prettier! Traffic is still crazy but it’s cleaner and with more parks to actually enjoy and lounge around at. So to Indonesia, way to go!
.
I’ll be off grid again for a few more days. I just want to pop in today to say hello 😘
  • Such a contrast from less than a month ago. The leaves are no more and in exchange, we have Many many Christmas festivities.
⠀⠀
Do you know that almost every major city here has a month long Christmas market? If you think that’s not overwhelming enough, towns and villages would have their own weekend ones! 🤯🤯 If your goal is to visit Christmas markets in Europe, plan on visiting from a week before December to Christmas and you will be guaranteed many!
⠀⠀
Saarbrücken didn’t disappoint. I loved the month long market, which you see here, but I absolutely adored the special (last weekend only) castle area vendors. Most are local crafters and if I could, I would probably buy something from each booth.

Have a good week, all!
  • December first! Wow, didn’t 2018 go by so so fast?
⠀⠀
How’s your holiday preparation coming? Me, I have only bought two items and a few tree ornaments. That’s it 🙈
⠀⠀
Sassy pants in Riquewihr. Our first stop and she was still enthusiastic. I should share a photo of her when she was done with all: done shopping, walking and being photographed 😂
  • The view from above. Who can spot the bull 🐮? Not sure what the story was with the bull there 🧐

I was hoping for a beautiful golden hour but all I got was this. A very ☁️☁️ city.
⠀⠀
Do you understand why they said Heidelberg is one of the most romantic city in Germany? This view! Not to mention the cute alleys. Swoon!!
⠀⠀
I was told that Heidelberg has a fantastic Christmas market. I want to go! But going to try and get to Saarbrücken first because this weekend is the only weekend where there is a Christmas market around the castle. People said this is better than the one in the city centre. So I gotta see myself 😊
⠀⠀
Happy weekend, all! I can’t believe it’s the last day of November!! Until next post!!
  • What time do you get up in the morning and when is bed time?
⠀⠀
Morning here is 6:30ish. But sometimes when I don’t have to pack a lunch for Jovie, I can sneak in another 30 minutes. Bed time, I am bad at this. I try to get 8hrs in but often it’s more 6.5hrs. I struggle to sleep earlier than midnight. Not that I can’t fall asleep, I can’t get myself to bed 🙈
⠀⠀
The autumn colours of Amsterdam. Pretty ain’t it? Next time, I will see about renting a boathouse. They’re spendy but Amsterdam in general is expensive. One night shouldn’t break the bank too much. Yolo, right? 😜
⠀⠀
Have a great one ✨
  • Feeling cold, despite not being super cold outside. To warm myself up, ☕️ while looking at warmer weather photos 😜
⠀⠀
Antwerpen and one of her cosy corners. This is why I love Europe so much. The outdoor cafe scene and beautiful old, ancient at times, facades.
⠀⠀
My diary is getting super full. I have a few volunteer jobs, mostly school related, and due to the holiday season, there seems to be something going on every weekend and evenings.
⠀⠀
The jobs I don’t mind and quite enjoy once there. But as a work at home mom, getting out of cosy clothing (aka the PJs look) and out the door, is very challenging 😬
⠀⠀
Happy Tuesday, all!!
  • Golden hour during the Christmas Market in Petite Venice, Colmar.
⠀⠀
I hope I did this canal justice. It was so so beautiful in real life! Busy, but beautiful 😍
⠀⠀
If you want to feel the magic of Christmas, Visit Colmar!
⠀⠀
Two Christmas markets in one weekend with just Jovie. I couldn’t honestly say it was the best trip ever. Traveling with an expressive 9-years-old can be mentally exhausting 😜😂 But, we both decided that it was a very good trip because we got to spend a lot of time together.
⠀⠀
Have a great week, all!
