  • Caught a cold and feeling meh. The roses here though cheered me up a bit.
.
Thimble Cottage is the name of this house. What would you name your English cottage home? Mine would be Wilder Rose 🌹
.
Watched the England vs Croatia game with friends and forgot to post. Gutted that England didn’t win but Croatia played hard and well deserved. Looking forward to Sunday!

Riquewihr, France, is one of two villages that inspired Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Look at this alleyway! Gorgeous!! The rest of the village centre was just 👌👌 but good gosh, with fame and cuteness comes many many tourists.
.
Despite the tourists, us four included, it was worth the visit! For our family this village ticked a few of our boxes: cute overload for me and WW2 history for hubby. I would love to go on a week day and earlier in the day to get a better feel of the village.
.
Hope your weekend is going well!
  • Charming wonky building this Monday? Colmar is not short of stunning medieval half timber buildings!
.
Been semi-attached to the Thai soccer team boys stuck in the cave news. Yesterday’s and today’s missions were amazing and I hope that the rest of the team and divers will make it out alive by tomorrow 🙏

Anything exciting this week? I found a couple day trips to do that seems ok driving wise and a few where we can train. Driving here is still stressful for me. I am ok at 120km/75mi per hour (UK’s highway speed is 110km/70mi and this is my sweet spot). But anything over, or when there is no speed limit posted and a lot of cars are going who knows how fast on the Autobahn, my nerves get shot. I struggle passing because the car behind me that seemed like two kilometres away can be right behind me 15 seconds later. All I want to do is drive in the direction of France, just for the sake of slower traffic 😬
.
Hope you all have a wonderful Monday ❤️❤️
  • A charming Alsace street and restaurant.

What have you all been up to? Any great summer plans? Us, nothing much!
.
Kids are out of school and with the weather being so hot (high 20s/80 degrees hot), I just don’t feel like going anywhere. Also, without a membership like National Trust/English Heritage (where we could go to hundreds of historic and preserved places for free), I am a bit lost on where to go without breaking our budget.
.
Hubby said I’ll find my spots again soon but at this time, it’s just us mostly roaming around our (mostly modern) hood.
.
Hopefully this weekend I’ll have more things planned for this summer!
  • One of the many charming cottages in Cambridgeshire.
.
It’s been so hot the last few days and the heat will continue for awhile.

Us: swimming, tanning and meeting a new friend at the local swim park.

I think it’s becoming the norm to first meet somebody online first and then meeting up in person. The girls and hubby, while they’re used to it by now, still give me sideway looks when I tell them that I am meeting somebody I met online. But, I always meet in public places and 99% of the time we’ve chatted for awhile online before meeting and I never agree to meet if I feel a tad bit unsure.
.
How about you? Would you meet up in person somebody you “met” online?
  • No! This isn’t England!
.
Kaysersberg, Alsace. The winner of the 2017 France favourite village. I have no idea who voted on this but I agree!
.
Wouldn’t you just love to have a stroll around this gorgeous village and maybe grab a glass of 🍷 and 🍰 after?
.
A no plan weekend. How about you?
  • It’s sweltering here in Germany and England. What do you do? Cool of with a cold a cold drink in the shades outside of course!
.
How is your weather today?

I did this outside business after a good cleaning of the house, car and weeding. Feeling productive 😜

Sometimes, as a photographer, I feel guilty asking for ⛅️ so that I can take a less harsh photos but, as a street photographer who tries to take in the moment, ☀️ sometimes can’t be avoided. It is what it is and in the grand scheme of things, ☀️ is a blessing.
.
Hope your day is lovely ❤️
  • Soooooo knackered yesterday after our early flight back to Germany. Started at 3:30am wake up and arrived at 1:30pm. A quick lunch a nap and dinner for Jovie and I. Emma though... 16hrs nap later 😂😂😂
.
England this time of year: gorgeous roses all over the place!
  • Cottages like this. Proof that Snow White came from England and not Germany 😜
.
It’s been such a gorgeous ☀️ week here in England!! Wish we’re not leaving tomorrow.
.
House stalking as usual. If any local looks at me funny, I can 💯 percent perfectly say I am just a tourist and that thatched houses don’t exist where I came from. 💯 percent not lying 🙈😂
.
I have been refraining from IG-ing on weekends so that I can stay focus on family time. But, it’s a holiday and I am all alone 😊
.
Looking forward to our next visit “home”.
